It’s 3:40am. M. just left. I’ve come to the realization that I belong to him. No matter where my life takes us, I’ll think of him always and he’ll forever have a piece of my heart. Tonight he arrived in his new car, a red convertible Mini Cooper, bringing two bags of Doritos (Cool Ranch and Zesty Cheese) and a four-pack of Jam Up the Mash, one of my favourite sour beers from the brewery we frequent called Collective Arts. These were snacks for the movie we were to watch: The Jungle Book (1994).
The 1994 Jungle Book is a departure from Kipling’s story. It focuses on a romantic storyline between Mowgli and Kitty, a rich daughter of a British colonel. As a boy, Mowgli is separated from his village when Shere khan the tiger attacks. He grows up in the jungle amongst friendly animals, Bagira the panther, Grey Brother the wolf, and Bahloo the bear. When he is an adult he is found by Kitty and she and the doctor try to civilize him. The film features Jason Scott Lee, Lena Headey, John Cleese, Sam Neill and Cary Elwes. It is at times funny, sad, romantic, thrilling, and cute. We both enjoyed it. I bought a fruit tray and chocolate dip and Mom bought Angel food cake, strawberries and whipped cream. I ate 2300 calories by the end of the day.
