Yesterday I virtually attended a webinar on how to write a query letter and the top mistakes writers make in approaching agents. It was enlightening and encouraging because I learned there are all kinds of agents looking to back a debut author like myself. I also heard that for nonfiction you submit a book proposal instead of a manuscript. I’ll have to look into that one.
The current status of my book is that it’s being edited by me. I have some options as to who I’ll approach but after I’ve done as much as I can, I’m going to pay a professional to evaluate the manuscript. Then, I have lined up some peer editors to read and provide feedback. I’m determined to make this book excellent.
