It is early in the morning on Monday. I’m still thinking about earlier this evening.

I was in Burlington yesterday afternoon for the Geeky Book Club, where we discussed American Hippo by Sarah Gailey. The reviews were mixed. I liked the book; I thought it was fun and easy and I didn’t take it very seriously. The story is about a gang of hippo cowboys trying to blow up a dam. It takes place in a world where feral hippos inhabit the marshes of Louisiana and people raise and breed and ride hippos. I always have a good time at these book clubs. I don’t share that much, mostly listen. I find my mind doesn’t work as fast as other’s in the club do. That may be my meds or my illness or my sordid past, because I used to be top of the class in English and I always had my hand up. Funny and sad how things change as I get older.

Since I was in Burlington already, I stopped at Nickelbrook Brewery on Mainway and picked up some libations to stock my mini fridge with. I tried them later on in evening while watching Merlin on Prime. The first was Cucumber Lime Gose and it wasn’t my favourite, but it was flavourful and I drank it anyway. The cucumber taste was strong and it was sour, too. Odd. The second beer was Raspberry Jam Stand. It was sweet, tasted like cream soda. I liked it.

Today is Monday. My goal for this week is to eat more fruits and vegetables, less junk, and study for my upcoming English exam.
