Today I drove to Grimsby with the windows down and the wind in my hair. When I got to my sister’s place, she and Tommy my nephew were out at a splash pad near their house so my brother-in-law Jason let me in. I lavished their dog Rosie with some attention and butt scratches while she sniffed me.
When they got home, the three of us piled in the car and drove to The Forty. The waitress was very kind to Tommy and treated him with enthusiasm like you might expect from a waitress. I ordered the chicken guac sandwich with fries and a water. Tommy had chocolate milk and chicken fingers and fries. And Brit had a grilled chicken sandwich and fries. By the end of the meal we were stuffed and contented. I think we decided that we would go back there. During the wait for our food, I told Brit and Tommy about my new book idea and they helped brainstorm ideas for it. They liked the idea so that’s a good sign.
When we got back to Brit’s place, Tommy drew a picture of one of the characters he wants to add to the book and then we attempted to play a board game, but some of us found losing to Brit to be too frustrating to complete the game.
Other that, a good time was had by all.
