M. came over yesterday along with the Fishes and Ahn and her friend Amy. We had pizza and TONS of dessert: there were chocolatines, apple strudel, cherry pie, assorted fruit, and a chocolate fudge brownie ice cream cake. M. and I drank sour beer and sat out on the patio talking. It was Labour Day weekend so we heard some fireworks in the distance.
I read The Golden Swift by Lev Grossman and enjoyed it. I still read children’s books at my advanced age. The book is a sequel to The Silver Arrow and is about a bunch of kid conductors of a magical train that saves animals. My only disappointment is that there is no third book.
Today I slept until 2:00pm and ate 3000+ calories (ice cream cake in the middle of the night). My book is shaping up, but it’s a process. I hope to send it off to an editor by November 1.
